Case study
Planning Seasonal Product Imagery Across Formats
An anonymous packaged food brand needed seasonal visuals that worked for packaging updates, e-commerce listings and a short digital launch campaign.
Challenge
The brand was updating seasonal packaging and needed imagery that could serve pack-facing accuracy, marketplace thumbnails and campaign heroes without three separate production cycles. Label alignment, colour fidelity and styled scene direction had to stay coherent.
Planning approach
Pack shots were scheduled first while packs were pristine and labels confirmed. Styled scenes using seasonal props and surfaces followed, using the same colour palette as the packaging refresh so campaign art direction matched retail shelves.
Visual strategy
Front-panel clarity was prioritised for small online thumbnails. Styled frames introduced ingredient cues and serving context without obscuring the pack. Background colours were manually matched to brand tones rather than auto-sampled from photography.
Production method
Multiple pack angles were captured before opening packs for styled scenes. Reflection control and label alignment were handled in-camera where possible to reduce retouching drift. Crop-safe compositions left space for headline overlays in ad layouts.
Deliverables
- Pack-facing images with accurate label visibility
- Styled seasonal scenes for web and social campaigns
- E-commerce exports with agreed backgrounds
- Horizontal and square crops for advertising templates
Outcome
The brand received one coordinated image set usable across packaging proofing, marketplace listings and launch marketing. Production stayed within a single planned session by separating pack work from styled scenes and confirming crops before the shoot.
This anonymous packaged food assignment focused on cross-format planning—not claimed sales results. Seasonal styling was kept restrained so pack legibility remained the priority for retail and online listings.
